One Steel Wound Is A Welcome Break From The Mainstream

One Steel Wound is a heavy metal four-piece based out of Chicago, IL. They're a band that resents trends and the mainstream drivel being force fed to the masses. That feeling of outrage over the cultural consumption of tired, old leftovers can be felt on their debut full-length Vendetta and its second single and music video "Sadistic."
Writing music they want to hear, while keeping their collective influences embedded in their songwriting subconscious, is the group's modus operandi. While you can hear the influence of legendary bands like Machine Head, Slipknot, Hatebreed and Korn, One Steel Wound have a sound that is instantly recognizable and wholly their own.
The quartet got their start in 2013, when their current lineup was solidified. The very next year, they embarked on the recording process of their debut, self-titled EP. While the EP was quickly spread throughout the local scene, they weren't resting on their laurels. In 2015, their full-length Vendetta was completed and released, featuring the titular first single.
The imagery on the album's cover draws from the concept that with knowledge & understanding comes power. The young woman willingly walking into the abyss with the rabbit painted on the wall represents the idea of "going further down the rabbit hole." The material on the album covers topics like the loss of loved ones, coping with depression, being an outcast, and mental instability from abuse.
One Steel Wound aren't precious about the consumption and dissemination of their material. They don't care if people download the music for free, purchase it alongside their merch, or just the spread the good word of the band; they're grateful for any form of support.
It is evident that with a determined and unfiltered mindset One Steel Wound is living by their guts and goals and not dollar signs. While more singles and music videos are schedule to be released from Vendetta, One Steel Wound are planning a string of live dates, starting in the Midwest, and eventually branching out to however far their bus will take them.
