One of the worlds most legendary guitarists returns with a vengeance with Myles Kennedy and his band The Conspirators to bring a captivating rock album that full of heart, passion, chills and at times pure terror that evokes a feeling that you have returned to the days when today's classic rock was in it's prime; a time when rock music was so intense that fans would use the phrase, "Melt Your Face Off" when describing the music. "World on Fire" is the second album to come from Slash and Myles Kennedy and his band The Conspirators, following the success of their 2012 album "Apocalyptic Love". The chemistry between the Hall of Fame guitarist Slash and lead singer Myles Kennedy was instantaneously powerful, and with The Conspirators' Todd Kerns on bass and Brent Fitz on drums, the band uses their haunting talent to tell powerful stories throughout the 17-song album, from anti-war sentiments in "Dissident", sexual politics in songs such as "Dirty Girl" and "Battleground", charged issues like elephant poaching in "Beneath the Savage Sun" and sexual abuse within the Catholic Church in "The Unholy", most of which stemmed from thought provoking conversations between the band while on tour. The powerful lyrics of each song tackles some pretty dark subject matter, but ends up showcasing a brighter tomorrow at the ends of those dark songs, and makes fans feel that although they've gotten to a positive place by the end of the album, don't get too comfortable, because darkness is always around the corner, and you must remain vigilant to rise above that darkness, both from outside forces and from within yourself as well. The album is truly a group effort, showcasing a group dynamic that is refreshing to hear in a big rock album. While most would expect a legendary artist such as Slash to become the focus of the album, instead Slash uses his background having performed in bands his entire life, and makes sure each member of the band showcases their considerable talent with intense drum work, smooth bass riffs, fast paced guitar rhythms and out of this world vocals that really brings the band together full circle. "World on Fire" is truly the embodiment of rock and roll, bringing face melting music that keeps the crowd on their feet and their heads banging along with the tunes, yet bringing a sincere and heartfelt message to each song, asking the audience to analyze deep and powerful issues facing the world on a daily basis. On the heels of the news that Slash would not only be writing an original score for the world famous Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights latest 3-D Maze, "Clowns 3-D Music By Slash", but that the band was touring with Aerosmith interspersed with their own tour dates, Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators truly embody the spirit of rock and roll, and their album "World on Fire" is a must have album in 2014.
