Fall is steadfastly approaching, and with fall comes a slew of new albums in the rock and roll world. This is the time for bands to showcase their talent and for audiences to see which newcomers are poised to set the charts ablaze. Thus far, the band currently burning up the Billboard charts with their incredible talent and unique sound is Thank You Scientist, and with the release of their album "Maps ofNon-Existent Places," the band is on the precipice of greatness for sure. Blending wildly creative story telling with a host of musical genres, the band consists of seven members: Salvatore Marrano on vocals, Tom Monda on guitar, Greg Colacino on bass, Odin Alvarez on drums, Ben Karas on violin, Ellis Jasenovic on saxaphone, and Andrew Digrius on trumpet. The incredible unique thing about this band is the melding of various music genres into their sound. You can hear the innocent and lovable sound of The Beatles, the progressive rock styles of bands like No Doubt, Fall Out Boy, and The Used, and on top of those influences, we get snippits of jazz, blues, and even Motown to make a sound unlike anything ever before heard. Not since Chiodos have we heard such a wide array of genres meshing together in unison so perfectly as on this album. Fueled by hit songs such as "Feed the Horses", "Carnival" and "In the Company of Worms", this album is creative, smart, and intensley fun. The songs are incredibly layered, and yet are as catchy if not more so than anything on the Top 40 Billboard charts today. This is an album you cannot miss, and we hear at On Request Magazine eagerly await to see how this band progresses as the years go on. We give this album a 10/10, and highly recommend you purchasing the album today!
