'The Golden Boy' Is Proof That Their Is Still Individuality In The Music Industry

Science and music combine into a madly brilliant concoction in the wonderfully constructed album, The Golden Boy. Created by electronic/popartist MPTHY, the 12-track album showcases unique tones and musical experimentation that sounds like a combination of modern pop, Americana, rock and roll and the 90's alternative rock scene, and we here at On Request Magazine can't get enough of it. A scientist and musician, the story of MPTHY is an interesting one. After getting a career in music started and getting signed to a label, only to be dropped when he decided to experiment with his sound, then to find his groove again after a run with the band Pleasant Sweaters and creating an EP that would become the groundwork for this album, his story is one many in the music industry or trying to get into the music industry will be able to relate to. Playing to a similar style and tone as The Cure, R.E.M. and Justin Timberlake with an electronica edge, MPTHY still manages to create a sound and album that is wholly unique and unmatched in the world today. Songs such as "Scenes From a Marriage", "I Blame The Stupid Ocean" and the title track, "The Golden Boy", all prove that MPTHY is musical genius. His haunting melodies blend well with the technological marvels that he integrates into the music itself. Each track can easily be both a club hit and an emotional or story driven lyrical experience like no other. Fans of rock, pop, dance, electronica and even dubstep will be in love with this album, and we here at On Request Magazine highly reccommend you go out and buy your copies of MPTHY's The Golden Boy today!
