Often fans of the rock genre and music in general tend to seek out artists who are from big cities or who come across more "worldly", never relizing the true talent can often be from within their own hometown. Close to our own backyard, we here at On Request Magazine are proud to have gotten a chance to review hard rockers Heat of Damage, and their album Open Fire.
Hailing from Folsom, CA, these hard hitting musicians have crafted the perfect balance of gritty vocals, fast-tempo musicality and powerful lyrics. The band is a great example of true originality, and yet they do bring to mind artists such as Avenged Sevenfold and Eve to Adam musically. Songs such as "Any Other Way" and the hit single "Judgement Day", (the music video for which was filmed at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento, CA), are great examples of the monumental power that the music this band brings to life.
Overall, this is a phenomenal record. Full of honesty and incredible performances, Heat of Damage brings to life music that sparks originality and creativity, and we here at On Request Magazine look forward to seeing the career of this band bloom over time.
