Mind The Journey Definitely Takes Us On A Good Trip With 'Color In The Gray Machine'

Thought provoking, ingenious and clever. These are but a few of the words that can easily describe psychedelic and alt/synth rocker Spencer Sabo and his incredible project, Mind the Journey. After a massive hit 8-song EP, Sabo has created his first full-length, 12-track album titled Color In The Gray Machine, and his indie spirit and mastery of harmonious sounds blend together to create a truly unique album. Produced in his makeshift basement studio, the Boston, MA native has put together a record that reflects the inner workings of his own mind, and which he clearly intends to capture the audience's hearts as well. Honing in on a mixture of almost 70's era psychedelic rock and more current alt-rock stylings, Sabo's soulful vocals are both warming and ethereal, and when combined with the hypnotic tones of each track, the album seems to just take off into the stratosphere. With hit tracks such as "Interdimensional Romance," the soft melodies of "Boats" or the hit instantaneous classic "Rose Colored Glasses," the debut full length album Color In The Gray Machine is a sure fire way for Mind the Journey to beging their own proverbial "journey," (pun intended). This is a wonderful record that looks to make a name out of Spencer Sabo and his unique vision, and we here at On Request Magazine look forward to seeing the career of this artist unfold in the years to come.
