'Dawn To Dusk' Marries Music With A Message Perfectly

Rarely are we here at On Request Magazine priveleged enough to get an opportunity to preview and review an upcoming album that is so unique and massive that it's going to take an exclusive EP and single to keep fans satiated until the album's release. Today's exclusive comes from a founding member of the famed group Brand New Heavies, and that is Jim Wellman and his album, Dawn to Dusk. The album is a fantastic fusion of jazz, funk, soul and acid-jazz with the social commentary present throughout the lyrics of each track. An upbeat tempo with a message, Dawn to Dusk comments on the overwhelming technological advancements and the unevolved, nearly medieval setbacks in government and politics that continue to favor the 1% rather than the more evolved masses. With songs such as "Lucy", "Night of the Meme" and the hit single "Probably Good", each track features a soul-warming, soothing vocal and music and powerful, thought-provoking lyrics that aim to make everyone open their eyes and think for themselves rather than just take whatever the world's powerful elite try to spoonfeed you. With a sound similar to greats Marvin Gaye and Earth, Wind and Fire but with a modern twist, Jim Wellman's vision is profound and unique, and warrants your attention. The single "Probably Good" is available to steam now at the link below, and with the EP and full Album due in February of this year, we here at On Request Magazine are honored to give you this exclusive look at this incredible work. Be sure to stay tuned to the latest news from Jim Wellman using the links below, and pick up your copies of the album February 29th, 2016!
